Saturday July 10^th

It’s the Village Fete weekend, and on the evening of this day we have a Family Fun evening in the field behind the Fish, with a barbecue, beer tent, and some live music from some local up and coming musicians. Entry is free. Starts at 6.00 p.m. with live music from 8.00 until 11.00 p.m.

Sunday July 11^th

The VILLAGE FETE starts at 12.00 p.m. and features a Dog Show, Barbecue, Beer Tent, Tea Tent, Ice-Creams, lots of stalls with fun and games, arena events such as an egg-throwing contest and a football dribbling competition, some live music, a Hog Roast, and much, much more. All finished in time to go to the pub to watch the World Cup Final in the evening!

Friday July 23^rd until Sunday July 25^th

Once again, for (we think) the ninth year running, we’re delighted to be the venue for the annual weekend get-together of “The Travelling Folk”. This group of local lovers of traditional English folk, a lovely eclectic mix of keen enthusiasts with several very talented musicians, meet together to sing songs and tell stories, often amusing, always entertaining. Sessions are held on Friday and Saturday evenings from about 8.30, and Sunday lunchtime from about 12.30. There’s no admission charge – just come along, enjoy, and, if you wish, join in!

Sunday 1^st August

Our monthly pub quiz at 8.00 p.m. We’re always full up for this, so please call us in advance if you’d like to enter a team. The quiz consists of six rounds of broadly general-knowledge based questions, with a marathon round. Entry is £1.50 per player with teams of up to six, and we normally award three cash prizes, with a small proportion of the entry fees going to our local Bonfire Society for the Fireworks Fund.
